Small Engine Repair

Small Engine Repair is a 1 year program designed to give students a thorough introduction to Automotive. In this program, we will cover shop safety and cleanliness, hand tool identification and how to use them properly, the overall function of a small engine and what makes it run. Students will also get the opportunity to perform tons of different tasks and diagnostics on a large variety of power sports and small engine equipment.

Course Focus

  • Engine Components: Identify and understand the function of various small engine parts, including cylinders, pistons, carburetors, and ignition systems.

  • Maintenance Techniques: Discover essential maintenance practices to keep small engines running efficiently, including oil changes, air filter replacements, and spark plug maintenance.

  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Gain practical experience in diagnosing common engine problems and performing repairs. You'll work with both two-stroke and four-stroke engines.

  • Safety Procedures: Emphasize safe working practices when handling tools and equipment, ensuring a safe learning environment.
