Commercial Driver's License

This intensive 10-week course is a tremendous opportunity for high school students. The cost of a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) after high school is over $4000, but for high school students, the only cost is a permit fee.

In order to participate, students need two free periods—one for classroom work and the other for hands-on driving experience. In order to participate, students should be able to read, write and interpret directions, and have mechanical aptitude and ability. Basic math skills are essential.

Program Requirements:

  • An active Class C Maine driver’s license is required

  • Class C driving experience is highly recommended

  • Ability to drive a manual transmission is helpful, but not required

  • Ability to pass a drug test is required
