Cooperative Education

A or B Day

The Cooperative Education program is designed to provide paid on-the-job training.  Job placements are made according to student interest and initiative and community training station availability.  The Co-Op class covers general and technical information that is important to the workplace.  Students must have their own transportation to and from their job site, and are required to complete a portfolio of textbook assignments approved by the Maine Association for Cooperative Education.  College-bound students may choose this program as an elective to supplement their academic course work or gain experience in their career field.  Technical/Vocational students can gain valuable on-the-job training in their respective fields.   Recommended for seniors.

Students can also choose to concentrate in the Hospitality & Lodging Management industry within a Cooperative Education setting.  Students must be able to provide their own transportation to and from the job site for the second and third quarters.

The curriculum available to students concentrating in Hospitality was developed by the Education Institute of the American Hotel and Motel Association and provides important job skills and opportunities for career exploration.  Recommended for juniors and seniors.

3.5 Elective Credits for full day program, to be determined by sending school if ½ day program
