REGION 9

About our school

Region 9 offers all students from Dirigo High School, Telstar Regional High School, and Mountain Valley High School the opportunity to develop technical skills in TEN areas:  Building Construction, Certified Nursing Assistant, Computer Technology, Cooperative Education, Diversified Occupations, Forestry/Wood Harvesting, Metal Trades, and Commercial Drivers License (Truck Driving).  The courses are designed to prepare students for immediate job entry or further education; therefore most programs are designed for juniors and seniors.  Some programs are planned for two years and have specific related curriculum offered for the second year.

Transportation to and from each sending school is provided daily.  Our facility is located on Route #2 in Mexico.  School is in session from 8:10 a.m.-2:00 p.m.   Some programs require appropriate dress including protective hats and shoes.  All programs require an application, letters of reference, interview, copies of transcripts, and outline of graduation requirements.

Prospective students and parents/guardians are encouraged to spend time at Region 9 to better understand the programs and methods of education.  Brenda Gammon, Director, and Cheryl Ellis, Student Services Coordinator, are available to discuss individual needs and how programs can meet each student's educational goals.   A total of 3.5 credits will be earned for a full day program.  Contact your guidance office to find out what types of credits you will be awarded for your program of interest, as each school breaks down the credits according to its own policy.
