Mission Statement

Region 9 is a collaborative learning community, continually striving for excellence, providing a dynamic and challenging technical curriculum, that will prepare individuals with the occupational, the academic, and the social skills necessary to be productive citizens and workers.

Purpose

A) To provide practical and effective programs of education and training in trade and industrial, agricultural, business, distributive, technical and service occupation to secondary students age and/or in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12, and other services authorized by the Department of Education and Maine Revised State Statutes

B) To  provide Adult and Community Education to out-of-school youth and adults of the Region including

1. Basic Literacy
2. Instruction for high school completion( either GED or diploma)
3. Instruction to up-grade skills in anticipation of post-secondary school enrollment
4. Instruction in vocational and industry skill areas
5. Enrichment courses to meet interests in the community
6. Information and referral to other educational programs.

C) To provide business and industry with facilities for retraining and upgrading programs when such facilities are available
